Rainwater harvesting is the best solution available for shortage of water in some areas and developing the whole system by yourself is highly appreciable. But there are so much things in rainwater harvesting that decide the quality of the water stored in water tanks which can be called safe to drink and if factors like Mosquitoes breeding, Bird and animal droppings and Algae etc are not taken care of it can be hazardous for your health. So hiring some professional service for it is much advisable.
